This is for anyone needing more practice with various arithmetic operations
(mostly at the upper elementary level). The simplest activities are
times tables practice, and the more complicated activities include operations
and conversions involving fractions, decimals, and percents. This is
designed as a drill program which rates not only accuracy, but also speed.
I designed this as a way to promote mental efficiency as opposed to calculator
dependency. You could use a calculator, but needing to do so will probably
result in longer times, and thus lower scores! These problems may push
your limits, but with practice they can all be done with out calculation devices.
A high-score file is stored which allows users to compete with each other
in various categories. The program is easily configured to use a common
high-score file over a network such as in a school setting. Then students
on an entire network can compete with each other. If a teacher is interested
in deploying large quantities of this program, I would be glad to grant volume
price breaks -- especially for schools tight budget situations.
Minimum system requirements: Windows 95 / 98 / or ME (This
is a DOS program, but it needs Windows 9X to self-extract and deploy nicely.)
Instructions: If your browser allows, you can 'open' or 'run'
the file from its location. After downloading, a setup program takes
over and installs it. Or you can just save the file, then later find
and double-click it to install the program.
