Bible Text Searcher   v. 3.32b

Status:  Shareware, searches Old Testament and gospels.  The rest of the New Testament is available for
perusal, but not searches until after the shareware fee is paid.  ($14.00).

Programmed in:  Visual Basic 6.0

What it is:
This program is a simple text searcher that can search for any words or
phrases found in the Bible.  It comes with three translations, although
they are very similar to each other, and the wording in some verses may
be identical.  The three are King James, American Standard, and the
World English Bible (tm).  The World English Bible (WEB) is the most
modern version of these three.  It is based on the American Standard
version (written around 1900).  If you want to learn more about the
WEB, read on...  Otherwise, skip on down to the instructions.

The World English Bible is based on the American Standard version.
The reason I used these three translations is because they are  not tied
down with copyright laws.  Therefore, I could make and distribute this
program  much more economically than Bible programs that have to
charge you  for copyright  fees, which are required of anyone using the
NIV or NASB or  most other  modern english versions.
The modern english version, (called World English Bible TM ), has been
compiled by Rainbow Missions,  Inc.  Their project has been to modernize
the language in the American Standard Version from the  early 1900s and
make available one of the few (if not the only) modern english  version that
is public domain.  It is an on-going project.  Some of the books of
the O.T. have not yet been modernized and still use the archaic grammar of
American Standard version from 1900.  See their web site if you want
more information about their project.     http://eBible.org

New in version 3.3   More exclusion words can be entered as a search criteria.  A text file
authentication system has been added as a guard against tampering or
any other form of text file corruption.

Registration:     Both the Old and New Testaments of all translations may be
examined freely using this program without registering, BUT the search
functions are limited to the Old Testaments and four gospels only (of
all translations) until a $14 shareware fee is paid and a password entered.
The program has instructions about how to do this.  No information would
be required from you other than an email address and your name so I
can contact you.  I do not give these out to anybody.  I respect
                                your privacy.

Minimum system     Windows 95/98/ME/ XP systems with a standard display, mouse,
Requirements:          and 13 MB of free hard disk space. I would recommend at least a
pentium processor 166 MHz or faster, with at least 32 Mb of RAM,
though I have run it successfully on older systems.  Most modern
computers should run it as fast as you could wish.

I have now tested this program on a Windows 2000 platform and
it ran successfully -- and on XP as well.

Installation
Instructions:      Click on the download link below, and then click on 'Run from
this location', (or Netscape users click on 'open using').  Then
click okay, and the installation process should take over and guide
you through the rest of it.  Internet Explorer users will get a security
warning -- this is normal.  Disregard it (by clicking 'Yes') if you
decide that you trust this source.
